Two types of dependencies are used to represent DDR: primary dependencies and secondary dependencies. The primary dependencies, represented by the top arcs, form dependency trees preserving the following four properties: single root, single head, acyclic, and connected. The secondary dependencies, represented by the bottom arcs, form dependency graphs allowing multiple heads and cyclic relations.
